Strictly Come Dancing fans have praised this year’s series for its most diverse final the show has ever seen. As Eastenders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and partner Giovanni Pernice made history as the first ever deaf winner, dancer and runner-up Johannes Radebe told his partner John Whaite that ‘visibility is everything’.
And while judge Shirley Ballas described her as an ‘inspirational young lady’, and followed up with ‘I know in your heart you did it for the deaf community but for me you did this for every person watching this show’, fans have been quick to congratulate Rose with the most heart-warming of comments.
One fan declared that the actress has their ‘entire heart’, while charity Scope announced that her win has ‘led to increased interest in learning British Sign Language.’

So many disabled people don't see themselves represented on screen. For @RoseAylingEllis to have starred week-after-week on @BBCStrictly is a massive step forward.
🧏♀️ It's even led to increased interest in learning British Sign Language!

Strictly's Rose is a beacon to all, not prepared to be the victim of her deafness, finding a way to invite us into her world. Many of us blessed with empathy have been deeply moved to briefly share her world with her, a place of beguiling sensitive beautyhttps://t.co/MCRJ3vcgR9

Sobbing at Strictly #ItTakesTwo.
Asked what it would mean to lift the glitterball, Rose Ayling-Ellis said: “I just want to show that being different is what can make you win.” 🥺

And after Rose’s big win, there’s no doubt that she has an incredible career in showbiz ahead of her. In fact, according to Metro.co.uk, agent Barry Homes said of the actress: 'The world is at her feet. She could earn over £1million in 2022.’
Well, that's that then. We're pretty sure this isn't the last we're going to see of Rose Ayling-Ellis, and we are SO here for it.
