Fans Divided Over 'Awkward' Jennifer Aniston & Reese Witherspoon Interview

Awkward celebrity interviews are nothing new, but viewers were still cringing hard over Jennifer Aniston's latest appearance on The One Show.

The actress starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in a virtual interview to promote the new season of The Morning Show, which drops on Apple+ TV on Friday, 17 September.

The pair were interviewed by Zoe Ball and Jermaine Jenas, and, er, as well as him accidentally called her Rachel (yep, from Friends), Jen didn't respond hugely well to Jermaine's comment about her not being a morning person.

The presenter joked, "Reese, I'm going to be honest with you. Jennifer's pretty much sold it to me that she's not a morning person. So I'm going to ask you: are you a morning person?"

Jen quipped, "Did I sell that to you? Did I get a good deal?"

Meanwhile Reese carried on the chat, telling the host, “No, I’m definitely a morning person. Jen and I talk about this all the time. I’m the morning person and she’s more of a night person.”

She added, “So, it actually works out because I do kind of the early morning scenes, and then by 4 o’clock I’m toast, and then Jen starts around 11 and 12, and then she can do the night scenes because I can’t even think straight past 4 p.m.”

In a previous interview with The Radio Times, Aniston said she's a 'night owl' waking up around 9am, whereas Witherspoon tends to be up for 7:30am workout most days.

Fans were quick to pick up on the interaction. One person wrote, "Jennifer Aniston’s attitude in this interview is cringe. She keeps on looking to the side awkward #theoneshow"

Another put, "I really like Jennifer Aniston but was there really any need for her to be like that with Jermaine Jenas as he was only having a joke with her."

Others were more supportive of Jen though, loving her appearance on the show. "Jennifer Aniston is always so great in interviews. Really articulate and seems so lovely," one person wrote. Another put, "Jennifer Aniston is a legend, I’m hyped she’s on The One Show."
