One family spent lockdown renovating their stunning Victorian mansion in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, into a contemporary space packed with charm — and it's now on the market for £880,000.
While current owners, Anna and Chris Sulliven, purchased their dream home in 2017, they still had plenty of tweaks they wanted to make — and lockdown seemed the perfect time to dabble in a little DIY.
'With 12 to 14-week delivery times on lots of things that we had originally wanted to order, we decided that with all of us at home, it was the perfect opportunity to do as much as possible ourselves, and make the house a family project,' Anna told The Metro. 'We moved into the house in 2017, but there were still lots of tweaks we wanted to make.'
After heaps of TLC, the home is now a light-filled modern space perfect for a new family to move right in. You'll discover an entrance hallway with ceramic plank tiled flooring, an Insta-worthy panelled timber wall in the living room, high ceilings, wooden flooring, unique lighting, and a gorgeous sun room — the ideal spot for reading.
Some of the changes Anna and Chris made include making Georgian-style panelling from scratch, painting the walls, placing Portuguese tile-style decals on the stairs, wallpapering the archway into the dining room and converting the boiler room into a pantry.
Anna added: 'This house – part of a mansion that has been split into three homes, and probably originally serving as a nursery or laundry wing – had been beautifully looked after by its last owners.
'But most of it hadn't been properly updated for about 30 years. We had been living in a townhouse in nearby Leamington Spa with just a small garden, so we knew how much potential this had. Besides, I fell in love with it before I even saw it – it overlooks the most magical piece of woodland.'
This property is currently on the market for £880,000 via Mr & Mrs Clarke.
