EYNTK about *those* Taylor Swift and Matty Healy dating rumours
Taylor Swift and The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy broke the internet last week after it was rumoured that the two were dating. The romance speculation came just weeks after the 33-year-old announced her split from actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn, who she'd been with for six years.
According to The Sun, a source close to Taylor shared that the two had actually called it quits in February, meaning in terms of her new relationship, "there was absolutely no crossover."
And after Entertainment Tonight confirmed the budding romance just yesterday, revealing that the pair both have feelings for each other, does this mean we've got a new music royalty couple to fall in love with?
So, while we think of a new Kravis-esque nickname, let's take a look at their relationship timeline so far...
Taylor and Matty were briefly linked 10 years ago but denied any romance rumours
The new couple first met almost 10 years ago, and while they were briefly linked at the time, Matty fiercely denied that there was anything going on between them.
Speaking on Australia's 2DayFM back in 2015, the 34-year-old said: "It's fake. It's all bloody fake. It's a farce! We met each other, we exchanged numbers in the same way that a lot of people in this kind of world do, and we spoke occasionally."
He continued: "She's the biggest pop star in the world and I'm in Australia. There's no relationship or anything happening. It's just funny how people really, really buy into that."
A mutual friend reconnected them
A source told Entertainment Tonight that "Taylor and Matty like each other," and that "Taylor has a crush on Matty and they are having a good time hanging out."
"Matty also thinks Taylor is awesome and incredibly talented," they added, before revealing that the pair reconnected thanks to a mutual friend, musician, Jack Antonoff.
Matty attended Taylor's Eras tour in Nashville
On Friday night, Matty attended the first of Taylor's three sold-out concerts at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium as part of her Eras Tour.
The dating speculation was confirmed further when, during a performance of Cardigan, Taylor mouthed the same words that Matty was filmed saying before The 1975 played his song About You in Manila two days prior.
"This one is about you. You know who you are. I love you," the pair said aloud on stage, which of course went viral, as Matty was in the audience when it was time for Taylor to recite her sweet line.
The 1975 frontman was also a performer during Saturday night's show, when he took to the stage with supporting act and good pal, Phoebe Bridgers.
Following the gig, the couple were then photographed arriving back at the Anti-Hero singer's Nashville home.
A source revealed that Taylor and Matty's relationship "feels right"
The same source who spoke to The Sun also gushed that, while "it's super early days," the pair are "madly in love."
They also addressed Taylor and Matty's hectic careers, revealing that they both understand the pressures of each other's jobs and are "incredibly supportive."
The source also mentioned that the two are proud and excited about the prospect of the new relationship and that the 33-year-old wants to "own" this romance.
We wish them both well!
