ITV’s The Durrells might have disappeared from our screens, but there’s good news – next summer you can relive all of the show’s romance, drama and simply spectacular landscapes for yourself.
You’ll be able to follow in the footsteps of Louisa, Gerry, Larry, Leslie and Margo on Prima's exclusive tour of one of the best Greek islands, Corfu. Making it a truly special trip, you’ll be joined by naturalist Lee Durrell, the wife of the late Gerry.
His book My Family and other Animals, which described the family’s time on the idyllic Greek island in the 1930s, became an instant hit and remains a favourite among children around the world.
Brought to life by actors Keeley Hawes, Milo Parker, Josh O’Conner, Callum Woodhouse and Daisy Waterstone, the ITV show reignited our love of all things Greek.

The Corfiot adventure begins in the island’s capital, where you’ll check into stylish hotel Divani Corfu Palace, and enjoy an evening cocktail reception with Lee Durrell – your first chance to meet a member of the famous family.
She’ll give a talk about the legacy of her late husband Gerald and tell you all about about his lifelong love of Corfu.
Highlights over the coming days will include coffee in Corfu Town’s renowned arcaded avenue the Liston with David Ashcroft, who directs the annual Gerald Durrell Week and will give you a guided tour of Corfu Old Town.
It's full of architectural gems that reflect the Greek island's past rule by the French, British and Venetians, as well as plenty of places loved by the Durrells.
You’ll also see Mouse Island, a tiny isle in the bay south of Corfu Town that you’ll no doubt remember from Gerald’s first book, My Family and other Animals.
From here, you can see his Chessboard Fields - marshland rich in wildlife - and the location of the original Strawberry Pink Villa.
Visiting the east coast of the island will give you a chance to see picturesque Kalami and the White House, the former home of Larry and Nancy Durrell.
You’ll be able to explore the area where Larry and Nancy swam and had picnics, and Lee will talk about the area's links to the Durrell family. You’ll also see the ‘Lake of Lillies’ (locally known as Lake Antiniotissa) from My Family and Other Animals and Lee will give a short reading from the book.
A final Corfu highlight will be Old Perithia, an ancient deserted village in the north of the island. Here, you can wander along abandoned streets and buy some of Corfu’s delicious mountain honey.
Towards the end of your trip, you’ll head across the Ionian Sea to Albania, arriving at the pretty beach resort of Saranda, before heading on to the UNESCO-listed Butrint for a tour of the impressive archaeological site, with its history dating back to the Ancient Greek and Roman empires.
