Director and proponent of the girl gaze Petra Collins is about to enter the world of cinema. Deadline announced that production has already started on a psycho-thriller penned by Collins, Melissa Broder, and Phoebe Fisher.

If Fisher's name sounds familiar, it's because she also produced HBO's hit show Euphoria. The story, centred around an influencer who becomes so obsessed with popularity her body starts falling apart, will also be produced by members of the Euphoria team. Yes, folks, that includes Drake.

Collins' signature aesthetic is dreamy and centred around girlhood, so expect some stunning visuals by way of aesthetically pleasing sets and soft-focused camera work.

This isn't Collins' first time working with Selena either. They collaborated on her song "Fetish" a few years back and have done photoshoots since then. We hope the familiarity they share with one another that will translate on screen.

Gomez has also spoken openly about her struggles with mental health and the toxicity of social media, so we suspect this story to have some deeper significance to the star.

Much about the story is still under wraps, but the high profile producers and stars involved means that we will surely be hearing more about the movie as it develops.
