After almost two years we all know the most common symptoms in Coronavirus patients include persistent cough, sore throat and fever. However, some people experience other symptoms that are most unusual. These celebrities have opened up about their COVID-19 diagnoses, and the odd manifestations their bodies showed.

‘Shakespeare in Love’ actress Gwyneth Paltrow shared in a blog post on her website Goop, that her COVID diagnosis resulted in such particular symptoms, including “long-tail fatigue” and “brain fog”. As expected, the entrepreneur consumed multiple vitamins and healthy ingredients to recover.

‘Criminal Minds’ star Shemar Moore took to Instagram to make his Coronavirus diagnosis public. In December 2020, he wrote: “I HAVE COVID! Just found out moments ago… I am gonna stay wrapping presents.” The TV star stated that he initially thought it was “food poisoning” as it the ache was one of the few symptoms he had. He added: “I still can smell, taste, no cough, no runny nose.”

In a November 2020 appearance on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, the ‘Notting Hill’ star said he believes he contracted COVID in February of the same year. Grant explained that he had both common and unusual symptoms. He said: "It started as just a very strange syndrome where I kept breaking into a terrible sweat. Then my eyeballs felt about three sizes too big.” Then he added that he started to panic after noticing he couldn’t smell. He joked: "I eventually went home and sprayed my wife's Chanel No. 5 directly into my face. Couldn't smell a thing, but I did go blind!"

TV and radio star Andy Cohen has had COVID twice, most recently contracting the virus in December 2021 even though he'd had his booster vaccine. He first caught coronavirus in March 2020 as the illness swept across the globe and complained of having a "terrible" cough and a "tightness" in his chest. He shared: "It took 10 or 11 days to work through my system, and it takes a bit to get my energy back. "You go downstairs to make a piece of toast and you come back and you need to relax."

Actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson were among the first celebrities to get a positive Coronavirus test result back in 2020. In an Instagram post, the ‘Terminal’ star opened up about his symptoms, including extreme fatigue. He shared: "No fever but the blahs. Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch."

‘The Bachelor’ star Colton Underwood had a chat with People magazine, talking about how he struggled with the Coronavirus. While one of his symptoms was quite common, what came after it was not. Colton said: "I feel like I only have access to about 20 percent of my lungs. My breath is shorter, and I've had to train myself to talk differently with my breath.”

‘Molly’s Game’ actor Idris Elba took to social media to reveal his COVID-19 diagnosis. In March 2020, the star went live on Twitter and said: "I'm very worried about what's happening in the world, if I'm honest." Elba was particularly worried about his health since he has suffered from asthma for many years. However, the most unusual symptom he experienced, is that he did not have any symptoms at all.

In December 2020, the TV host revealed on Twitter her COVID-19 diagnosis, which was initially asymptomatic. However, a week later she updated her social media followers on her health, and although she was stable, she mentioned one unusual symptom she experienced. She wrote: "One thing they don't tell you is you get, somehow, excruciating back pain. Didn't know that was a symptom."

‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star Khloe Kardashian tested positive for COVID-19 back in March 2020. Six months later, in September, she revealed in a Twitter chat that she experienced one particularly worrying side effect. She shared: "My hair really fell out with COVID. So after, it was really a struggle for a minute."

‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Charmed’ star Alyssa Milano tested positive for COVID in August, 2020, documenting part of her illness on social media. In a Twitter post, appearing in a hospital bed, Milano stated that she experienced “real heaviness in my chest”. In another post, this time on Instagram, the actress showed in a clip her surprise hair loss. She wrote: “Thought I’d show you what #Covid19 does to your hair.”
