Exclusive: Kathy Hilton opens up on being a 'hands-on' grandmother

Kathy Hilton has opened up on being a "hands-on" grandmother as she walked the orange carpet for the Race to Erase MS gala.

The mom-of-four was joined by her husband Richard and later introduced the luxurious live auction during the special event hosted every year by Kathy's dear friend Nancy Davis.

Kathy's daughter Nicky is currently expecting her third child, a baby boy, and her daughter-in-law Tessa is also expecting a baby, while daughter Paris has also spoken publicly about her desire to become a mother after marrying in 2021.

"We have two in the oven right now - Nicky is expecting and my daughter in law Tessa - [and they are due] a month apart" Kathy told HELLO! admitting that she loves to be hands-on "as much as I can be" with her grandchildren.

Nicky is mom to Lily-Grace and son Teddy, while Tessa and husband Barron welcomed their first daughter Milou in 2020.

Kathy wore a stunning orange gown for the event which has been held for 29 years and is dedicated to the treatment and ultimate cure of Multiple Sclerosis.

Kathy was a guest of honor at the event

Since the Race to Erase MS foundation was created, there has been more than $50 million raised and 22 FDA approved therapies created to aggressively fight MS.

"I have been involved since the beginning as my mother in law had MS and suffered so this is something very near and dear to my heart," Kathy told HELLO!

Nicky is expecting her third child

After guests including Deacon Phillippe, Vivica A. Fox, Garcelle Beauvais, Victoria Justice and Katie Cassidy walked the carpet they were then invited to bid on various items including a signed Titanic poster by Leonardo DiCaprio, various five-star resort trips and beauty products.

The star-studded event also featured a performance by Grammy Award-winning composer, producer, and guitarist Nile Rodgers and Chic, with the band getting the crowd dancing with hits including Let's Dance, We Are Family, Get Lucky and Freak Out.

The event raised over $1.4 million and kicked off with a runway show by Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive with models of all abilities highlighting his new collection which features discreet modifications – such as one-handed zippers and magnetic closures.
