Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are believed to have ended their six-year relationship after the model’s mother Yolanda Hadid alleged the former One Direction star ‘struck’ her during a disagreement.

On Thursday October 28, numerous publications reported that the pair have split amid the allegations, over a year since they welcomed their first child together, Khai.

After the allegations came to light, sources told TMZ that the couple have been apart for over a month, yet neither the model nor singer have confirmed the reports of a break-up.

The Daily Mail reports Hadid's siblings, Anwar and Bella, have since unfollowed Malik on social media, as has Anwar's girlfriend Dua Lipa.

In recent years, it appears the Hadid family and Malik have been on great terms, with the supermodel going as far as to say her partner is usually on her mother’s side during family discussions. ‘So he’s smart in that sense,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar in July.

According to Us Weekly Gigi has meet with lawyers to discuss the custody of her and Malik's daughter. 'Gigi met with her lawyers last week. She also met with new lawyers to start helping with custody issues,' a source told the publication. 'There will be conversations about custody.'

Another source told People: 'Yolanda is very upset with Zayn, but Gigi has made it clear that her daughter needs her dad. Gigi will do everything she can to make sure they co-parent in a civil way.'

What are the charges against Zayn?

Malik has been charged with four criminal offences of harassment, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The offences are said to pertain to an argument that happened at the couple's home in Pennsylvania.

One document indicated that the singer pled guilty to the charges, but court officials told TMZ that Malik pled 'no contest'. The BBC reports that a no contest plea means the 28-year-old won't fight the harassment charges in court.

He allegedly called Yolanda a 'f***ing Dutch slut' and told her to 'stay away from [my] f***ing daughter'.

Malik denies physical contact, but, according to the documents 'shoved her [Yolanda] into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain'. He was also said to scream at Gigi - 'strap on some f***ing balls and defend your partner against your f***ing mother in my house' - and tried to fight a security guard.

He has reportedly been fined, with conditions, and is now on probation for 360 days. He cannot contact Yolanda or the security guard, and must complete an anger management class and domestic violence programme. The judge could terminate probation after six months if conditions are met.

And amid the ongoing drama, here’s everything that’s been said:

Zayn Malik

The singer took to Twitter to address the claims that he had struck Yolanda Hadid during an argument.

Describing the incident as a ‘private matter’ the 28-year-old stated that he is focussing on the ‘safe and private space’ of his 13-month-old daughter.

‘As you all know I am a private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren’t thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart,’ Malik began his statement.

‘In an effort to protect that space for her I agreed not to contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.

‘This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been “leaked” to the press.’

Malik concluded the post, noting that he hopes ‘healing’ would come as a result of the alleged incident.

‘I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves,’ he wrote.

TMZ reports that ‘sources with direct knowledge’ said that Yolanda Hadid had alleged that Malik had ‘struck her last week’.

In response to the allegations, Malik told the publication: ‘I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.’

Bella Hadid

Hours after the reports of the allegations surfaced, Gigi’s sister Bella shared a screenshot from the Instagram account @_awaken_one_ on her own account with the cryptic quote: ‘I can do nothing for you but work on myself. You can do nothing for me but work on yourself.’

One of Malik's younger sisters shared a cryptic post on social media, warning her followers that 'karma comes after everyone' amid the allegations against her brother.

Safaa Azad Malik

The 19-year-old sister of the singer shared her own posts on social media which appeared to allude to rumours of the allegations and her brother's rumoured split from Gigi.

'Family. We may not have it all together, but together we have it all,' one post read, while another adds: 'Don't react to toxic people. Not giving them a reaction when they desperately seek it, is far more powerful.
