Fenty Skin's first products have been revealed
Since its launch in September 2017, Fenty Beauty has arguably made a bigger impact on the make-up industry than any other brand. From raising the standard when it comes to foundation shades to creating some of the most inclusive campaigns in history, it’s easy to see how the line became so beloved, so quickly.
Now, Rihanna has finally announced the launch of Fenty Skin, which will be available from 31 July.

News about the 31-year-old moving into skincare surfaced as early as 2017, when a fan unearthed a trademark registration for a brand named ‘House of Fenty’. According to that application, the line would produce "cosmetics, non-medicated skincare preparations, namely creams, lotions, gels, toners, and cleansers".
It was thought that this could have been in reference to her then forthcoming launch of Body Lava highlighters, which were released under Fenty Beauty last March.
The new trademark registration, however, was filed specifically under the new name ‘Fenty Skin’, for “medicated and non-medicated skincare, soap, body care and personal care products (excluding colour cosmetics, perfume and other fragrance-only products), and related accessories such as kits, tools and applicators”.
The five names mentioned in the trademark are teasingly ambiguous – from Buff Ryder to Flash Nap and Fat Water – leaving fans speculating on exactly what Rihanna’s first skincare innovations will be.

Today, we've received our first teaser, with the star revealing details on a trio of products. First up is the Total Cleans'r: an oil-free, non-comedogenic formula that removes make-up, pollution and oil. Fat Water is a two-in-one serum and toner, which contains niacinamide (famed for fading pigmentation) as well as vitamin C-rich acerola cherry and antioxidant green tea. Finally, Hydra Visor is a reef-friendly, broad-spectrum SPF moisturiser designed to work seamlessly with all skin tones. It's lightly tinted pink, so shouldn't leave a white cast, and is formulated to play well under make-up, too.
But perhaps the most impressive surprise is that at-least one of the products has been called out for being housed in refillable packaging – surely, if anyone can finally get us on board with refillable products, it's Rihanna.

Unsurprisingly, Fenty Skin looks set to be the inclusive skincare brand we’d expect from the woman who made 40 shades of foundation the new industry benchmark. On the brand’s newly authenticated Twitter account, Rihanna has been discussing the outdated notion of gendered skincare, hinting that she is prepared to challenge industry standards once again.
Whoever told you skincare has a gender, LIED to you! Hi Robyn! 😊 #FENTYSKIN https://t.co/wlDTNUnYvY

The star has also released the first Fenty Skin campaign, which features a stellar line-up of models, including Halima Aden and Paloma Elsesser, as well as A-list faces A$AP Rocky and Lil Nas.
Fenty Skin will launch at Fentyskin.com on 31 July, and signing up to the waitlist will gain you early access to the first wave of products.
