Everything You Need To Know About Joanne Tucker, Adam Driver's Wife
If you don’t have a full-blown crush on Adam Driver yet (sorry, but have you seen that Burberry advert?) prepare for your mind to be changed.
House of Gucci, which stars the actor alongside Lady Gaga, is coming to our screens in November and, judging from what we can see of the press shots and filming snaps, he’s on his very best form as the head of the iconic fashion house.
Sadly for everyone in an imaginary relationship with Adam, he’s already in a real-life one with actress and wife Joanne Tucker. Here’s everything you need to know about the notoriously private couple, from their wedding to their red carpet appearances.
Who is Adam Driver’s wife?
Adam is married to 38-year-old actress Joanne Tucker, whom he met while studying at Julliard, the prestigious drama school in New York, in the early Noughties. She made her acting debut in the 2011 film Loft, and has since starred in The Report (2019) and Give or Take (2020).
'She taught me what Gouda cheese is, and that you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full and spit on the sidewalk,' he jokingly told Broadway. Sounds like a kinda perfect relationship to us.
Joanne also had a cameo alongside Adam in Girls, the HBO series that made him a household crush.
When did they get married?
Adam and Joanne got engaged in 2012 and then married in 2013 at a secret wedding destination, and there are (of course) no pictures of the big day, though it’s rumoured Adam’s Girls co-star Lena Dunham and her then-boyfriend Jack Antonoff were in attendance.
At the time, sources told Us Weekly: ‘they are very sweet together. They’ve been dating forever—years—and live together; [they're] very comfortable and in love. She was with him before the Girls fame. They both love theatre and the arts. She respects him so much…Everyone on the show is very happy for them.’
The couple are incredibly private and there’s basically only one selfie of them in existence, as neither of them have social media.
After graduating in 2009, the pair founded Arts in the Armed Forces (AITAF), a non-profit arts programming organisation for individuals working in the forces. Joanne is currently the Art Director of the organisation.

Does Adam Driver have a family?
The couple had a baby in 2016, but kept the news totally secret. The clues were there, though: in a video interview for W MagazineAdam slipped up and mentioned a child, before immediately backtracking (and laughing awkwardly).
Adam’s Logan Lucky co-star Channing Tatum then let it slip that his friend had a child during a press junket, but again Adam managed to laugh off the rumours.
In October 2019, however, Adam finally confirmed that he and Joanne had a son in a New Yorker profile. He compared keeping the secret to a ‘military operation’ and said: ‘My job is to be a spy – to be in public and live life and have experience. But when you feel like you’re the focus, it’s really hard to do that.’
Oh, and there’s a very cute dog
Adam is always talking about the family dog, a Rottweiler-Pitbull mix named Moose, in interviews. The family live together in Brooklyn, and Adam has professed to loving him more than anything. ‘I look at my dog—this sounds so absurd—but it’s not—I don’t know if I can love anything more,’ he told W Magazine. What have they been up to recently?
Joanne and their son joined Adam in Italy while he was filming for House of Gucci. The trio were pictured in Rome, enjoying ice cream in the park with Moose in tow.
They’ve also been known to work together: ten years ago, they made a short film called The Basement which is basically terrifying. It’s on YouTube, for those inclined to watch it in full.
Do they ever get photographed together?
Happily, the couple are red carpet regulars, and have been photographed together at premieres, the Emmys, Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globes and the Oscars.
