Great British Bake Off fans better start getting themselves ready for more signature bakes, soggy bottom soufflés and showstoppers because the 2020 series is right around the corner.

Brightening up the autumn terrestrial TV schedule (which has been looking rather bleak for obvious reasons), Channel 4 have now confirmed the start date as Tuesday 22nd September. Here's everything we know about the 2020 season so far:

Who are the Great British Bake Off 2020 judges and presenters?

Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will both be back in their judging roles, though it will be the first series since Sandi Toksvig announced she was quitting after three years as a host. Revealing the news to fans in January, Sandi, who has presented alongside Noel Fielding since 2017, revealed she wanted to focus on other work projects.

A few months later, Channel 4 announced that comedian Matt Lucas would be taking over. "I'm chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television," he said in a statement. "I can't wait to break bread with Noel, Prue and Paul and meet the brilliant bakers."

When does the Great British Bake Off 2020 start?

Channel 4 has confirmed this year's GBBO start date as Tuesday 22nd September at 8pm. "Put a little love in your tart," the Bake Off account tweeted. "Join us on Tuesday 22nd September for the return of The Great British Bake Off!" Oh, we will.

Production on the series had wrapped in August after filming earlier this year was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Do we have a Great British Bake Off trailer yet?

We most certainly do! It harks back to the early days of lockdown where nobody could get their hands on any flour, and shows people scrabbling around on phone calls and in whispered conversations trying to get hold of some.

The teaser ends with a young boy arriving at his grandma's house to give her a very exciting delivery: a bag of flour. The pair then sit down to share some cake and the camera pans to the iconic GBBO cake, inscribed with the message "Bake Off's Back".

Who are the 2020 Great British Bake Off contestants?

We unfortunately don't have any info on this year's bakers yet, but check back here soon to see who the lucky 10 contestants competing for the, er, flowers and cake stand are.

Can I enter the Great British Bake Off 2020?

The deadline for the 2020 series was Sunday 5th January 2020, so sadly you've missed the boat, but now is definitely the time to be thinking about next year's show.
