Capricorns are pretty high up on the ~good partner charts~, because they are loyal, ambitious, home and family-orientated, and strong. They are the hardest worker of all star signs, and always have a goal to aim at. They are planners, climbers, doers. They are going to ask you about your life ambitions, your 10-year career plan, your pension scheme, your investments etc. Dates CAN feel a bit like interviews in the early days, but bear with. They do lighten up.

Capricorns have a real fresh-faced youthful look and can crome across as dark and brooding. Of the star signs, they are the strong, serious, quiet type that evokes a little air of mystery because they’re always just off to the side, out of the limelight but still drawing glances.

Practical, stoic, serious (albeit with a secret good sense of humour that will surprise you - very dry and wry), materialistic and determined. It is these qualities that make them great life partners. In fact, what all Capricorns really yearn to be a part of is a ~power couple~ dynamic. They dream of having a partner who is as ambitious and positive about living the best life as they are, and will work as a team to create significant and lasting security, comfort and luxury. Only the best will do.

What are Capricorns looking for?

Someone who is in demand, basically. Caps can be quite materialistic and love status symbols and high quality items, and this trait stretches into relationships too. They will go after the people that others are after too; they see popularity as a hallmark of quality. That all sounds pretty superficial - they aren’t as shallow as that all sounds. But they are triggered by wanting (and therefore winning) what everyone else wants.

In terms of personality, partners ideally should be loyal, ambitious, home birds, worldly and commitment-friendly (Caps get serious about relationships pretty fast, they’re not ~fly by nights~). Punctuality is important!

Turn-ons for Capricorns

Physically, aside from their knees (which perhaps doesn’t come across as the easiest erogenous zone to get at), Capricorns are highly sensitive around their lower back, bums and thighs. Holding and caressing these areas as you stroll around will have their (usually serious) eyes widen with pleasure.

All Caps are suckers for retail therapy. Designer stores, art galleries, car show rooms, even estate agent windows. Places which let you glimpse into the material world that the rich and famous get to enjoy. Capricorns are mega turned on by status. So, if you’re not rich and famous yourself, use window shopping to fantasise with them about that world.

Turn-offs for Capricorns

  • Flakiness. By that I mean acting kind of wishy-washy, and not being able to make firm decisions or commitments. If you like to go with the flow, drift through life and see what happens, turn up for whatever whenever you feel like it (hello Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini) then you may well grate upon the nerves of clockwork-operated Capricorn. They won’t feel they can rely on you or invest their time and energy in you.

  • Banter. Tread carefully with your Capricorn date when it comes to teasing and jokes, especially if the jokes are at their expense. Even the lightest of personal observations or quips will burn them down to their very core. All Capricorns are super-sensitive (if not a little paranoid) about their appearance / reputation / humour / social status. They will nurse and dwell on any critique for years.

Capricorn's compatible signs

All the Earth signs get along well, so Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn are good matches for Caps. Their opposite sign is Cancer, which means there is an irresistible attraction there, and both signs are very homely and domestic, so they make good ~life partners~.

Ideal first dates for a Capricorn

  • Shopping and dinner

  • Shopping and drinks

  • Whatever the most-coveted and ~hottest~ ticket in town is

  • Sports event (they usually have an interest in sports, but it might be a more niche or lesser followed sport)

  • Museum / history tour and drinks
