As far as superhero satire goes, there's only one show leading the way: The Boys, obviously. Season three of the Amazon Prime show finally arrived on our screens last week, with the first three episodes dropping on 3rd June. The series finale won't air until 8th July, but that hasn't stopped viewers from looking ahead to a potential season four.

The show has an epic cast aanndd, you guessed it, we're dying to see them back on TV. Here's everything we know about a potential The Boys season four so far...

Has The Boys season 4 been confirmed?

Amazon Prime Video sadly hasn't officially confirmed season four just yet, but fans have spotted some clues pointing towards its arrival.

Actor Karl Urban, who plays Billy Butcher in the series, told Variety in March that he was filming The Boys until the end of 2022. He confirmed in an interview, "I’m shooting The Boys through the end of the year." So, with season three already airing as of June, Urban's filming schedule certainly sounds as though a season four could be happening.

It was previously reported that The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke had invited Supernatural's Jeffrey Dean Morgan to take a cameo role in season three, but the actor was unable to commit due to schedule clashes. Morgan later hinted that more The Boys episodes could be on the way, tweeting in May 2022, "I’ll make it work ⁦@therealKripke [Eric Kripke]," in reference to reports.

So, all sounds promising for a season four, then?

When is The Boys season 4 expected to be released?

Unfortunately season four hasn't been confirmed just yet, so we'll have to wait until it is before hearing about a release date. However, going off Karl Urban's hint that S4 could be filming until the end of 2022, we'd expect a potential season four to air in late 2023 at the earliest.

Who will star in The Boys season 4?

We'll have to hold on until the season three finale on 8th July to be sure that everyone makes it out alive and well. But, if they do, we'd hope to see all of the lead cast back on screen for a potential season four. So, that's: Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Antony Starr as Homelander, Chace Crawford as The Deep/Kevin Moskowitz, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Dominique McElligott as Maggie Shaw, and more.
