Wagamama has become the victim of a crime – a terrible crime. The chain of Japanese restaurants has reported an overwhelming number of its cute little green tea mugs going missing.

If you’ve ever been to a Wagamama, you’ll no doubt have ordered a free green tea – even just so you can have a turn on one of the cute little green tea mugs they serve it in. But the problem is, a number of customers who order the green tea then think it’s okay to take the mug with them when they leave. Sure, we get it – they’re adorable, but that is literally stealing, guys.

And we think the problem may be TikTok. Yeah, usually TikTok is a place for positive vibes only. It’s the best place to go for dance routines and food hacks, among other things. But unfortunately, it’s also the place where people are showing off their stolen Wagamama mugs; encouraging others to do the same.

Sadly, because of this, a number of Wagamama branches are having to serve green tea in boring, regular mugs. Eurgh.

Unfortunately, according to Metro, it looks like this isn’t such a new problem though, because an angry Wagamama customer wrote on Twitter in November last year: “Can’t believe so many selfish customers at Wagamama were stealing the cute green teacups that they have to use these ugly plastic ones…

“Now I can’t steal a green teacup for myself.”

Wait a minute…

Well, seeing as Wagamama translates to ‘naughty child’, are we really that surprised all these customers are behaving like this?
