Each year, the Oscars treats us to incredible fashion moments, a star-studded gathering of famous people, heartwarmingand history-making acceptance speeches and, equally as important, memes.

Whether it's Jennifer Lawrence and her wine glass, Chrissy Teigen's grimace or Meryl Streep's applause, the Academy Awards never fail to produce a good meme or two.

And, luckily, for 2020 things were no different.

By now, you've likely seen the best looks from the ceremony and after parties, read through the list of winners and watched the most capturing speeches on YouTube.

So, allow yourself a moment to enjoy the greatest memes produced on the night:

Billie Eilish's Awkwardness

When Kristin Wiig and Maya Rudolph had a Bridesmaids/SNL reunion presenting the Best Costume Design at the Oscars and turned it into a musical medley, the camera panned to an... unsure Billie Eilish, instantly sparking a meme.

The pure joy from Bong Joon Ho

Parasite was the biggest winner from Oscars' night, garnering the Best Picture award (the first time a foreign language film has ever won the gong) and Best Director for Bong Joon Ho - who has won legions of fans this awards season.

Candid moments of Bong Joon Ho absorbing his Oscars' victory and moments from his speech - which essentially were just wonderful moments of joy - were instantly screengrabbed and shared

We can see this one getting used a lot:

The appreciation for Bong Joon Ho's translator, Sharon Choi

Bong Joon Ho's new global fan following also extends to his unflappable translator Sharon Choi who regular viewers of award ceremonies have come to know throughout this 2020 season.

Timothee Chalamet's new jobs

Chalamet broke away from some of his more recognisable red carpet looks to wear a matching zip-up tracksuit by Prada, which fans both loved and meme-ified quite quickly.

Taika Waititi stuffing his Oscar under his chair

The Jojo Rabbit director won his first Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. When he returned to his seat, eagle-eyed Brie Larson filmed the Marvel director looking for a temporary keepsake place for his new award.

People are still not over Jennifer Lopez being snubbed

One of the biggest upsets when the Oscar nominations were announced last month, was the fact that Jennifer Lopez was omitted from the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Hustlers.

And some people on social media, still aren't over it.

Billy Porter keeping it real

Though he is known for some of the most dramatic and enchanting red carpet looks in recent times, the Pose star also knows when he needs to keep warm.

As well as being an all-round superstar, Porter has a sense of humour too:

Julia Butters bringing her own snack to the Oscars

Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood's biggest star - no not Leo, Margot or Brad - but 10-year-old Julia Butters revealed on the red carpet that she had packed her own turkey sandwich for the event because 'I don't like some of the food here.'

Firstly, we have huge respect for this. Secondly, the act inspired some great memes:

Cynthia Erivo's mesmerising stage presence

Though people already knew Oscar-nominated Erivo had talent when it came to acting, some were blown away by her performance of the Harriet soundtrack 'Stand Up' during the Academy Awards. To top it all off, she performed an ultimate power move before breaking into song:

Sandra Oh's joyful reaction to Parasite's win

Margot Robbie face-cupping Timothée Chalamet

An unexpected Oscars moment came when Chalemet photobombed the Birds of Prey actor on the red carpet. A clashing of two favourites of course led to some memes.
