Two days ago something truly shocking happened over on Twitter. Cereal brand Weetabix tweeted a picture of a plate of Weetabix topped with baked beans, captioning it, "Why should bread have all the fun, when there's Weetabix? Serving up @HeinzUK Beanz on bix for breakfast with a twist. #ItHasToBeHeinz #HaveYouHadYourWeetabix." Obviously social media has been in uproar ever since, and now the police have even got involved.

In the two days since the tweet, it's gained more than 122,000 likes and more than 20,000 comments as people wade in to share their opinion, including numerous other brands.

Sainsbury's responded with an ode to the Handforth Parish Council meeting, saying, "Beans have no authority here, no authority AT ALL." While, Dominos said, "Us: Pineapple on pizza is the most controversial food ever. Weetabix: Hold my spoon."

Northants Police have also since got involved, saying, "We have had a few comments from members of the public asking how we are going to respond to this incident. It is clearly a crime without a doubt but we won't be visiting their headquarters in Burton Latimer just yet as the Crimes Against Breakfast Act doesn't exist..."

A quick scroll through the thread will show you other choice responses from Nandos, Lidl and even the NHS.

Look, I don't want to add fuel to the flames, but should we... give it a go?
