Eva Longoria brings passion and high energy to everything she does—from her activism to acting—so it should come as no surprise that her gym persona is not so different. But if there was ever any doubt, the former Desperate Housewives star offers plenty of proof by means of the Insta photos showing her super strong muscles. Take this one. Eva posed poolside wearing a yellow bikini, and her core and legs look so toned. And more recently there was this one, showing Eva rocking a see-through dress. She also regularly posts videos of her workouts on her social media—both Eva and her trainer, Grant Roberts, post her workout sessions on Instagram.

After giving birth to her son, Santiago, in 2018, Eva took some time to ease back into her fitness routine in order to give her body enough time to properly heal. 'It created a human life, so I really wasn't too hard (on myself) about getting back into shape,' Eva told US Weekly. But about two and a half years ago, she started to amp up her workouts by incorporating serious strength training sessions (which, if you peeped on Instagram, are pretty intense!).

In addition to doing weighted exercises, Eva also likes to add variety to her workouts. 'I do a lot. I'm a runner, I do Yoga, I do pilates. I do SoulCycle, and I'm just constantly mixing it up,' she told People in 2017.

So how does she do it all? 'Everybody thinks there's some kind of secret to looking good, but it's not a secret. It's diet and exercise,' Eva told People. Other than that: 'It’s honestly just being committed to a goal,' she told US Weekly.

Before we get into her full workout routine, please take a moment for that core and legs. Eva often shares swimwear photos, but this marks the first bikini snap she's shared since 2021. Naturally, the last time she shared one in November, she looked just as fit and strong.

She's more focused on weight training than cardio.

After posting this video to his Instagram, Eva's trainer Grant Roberts was flooded with questions about the kind of workouts he does with Eva. When asked if she does cardio, he said, 'Some... but Eva looks the way she does because of weight training :)'

Moves like reverse dumbbell flies (which Eva demonstrates so effortlessly in the video) are an amazing way to sculpt and strengthen your back. Plus, it can help you improve your posture.

She's into strength training with cable machines.

If you have access to a gym (at home or otherwise) cable machines are a great alternative to free weights for resistance training. Here, Eva uses one to do cable squat rows, a compound movement that's getting her whole body working. She makes this exercise look easy, but this move is a major workout for your back, arms, core, and legs.

She's totally into TRX training.

Watch Eva crush a set of inverted rows using the TRX Suspension System (sheesh!). The added instability of the ropes really causes your muscles to activate and fire up, increasing the challenge level significantly. Her celeb followers couldn't help but take note of her crazy strength. 'Beast mode,' wrote Gabrielle Union in the comments. 'Good Lord. Ok.' added Debra Messing.

When asked about her workout style, her trainer Grant Roberts told Hollywood Life that she's never in a bad mood and puts in the work. 'I mean, she is superhuman, I don’t know how else to explain it,' he said.

She practices yoga.

When she's not strength training, Eva is hitting the yoga mat. She actually did prenatal yoga while carrying her son, Santi. 'I did yoga every day with my doula while I was pregnant. It helped me so much with the weight gain and my back,' she wrote in her Instagram post. And she's kept up her practice ever since.

Eva also likes to combine her strength training and cardio.

Case in point: This sled workout she used as a warm-up, according to her trainer. This push and pull exercise is awesome for strength and conditioning as it works your muscles and revs your heart rate at the same time. Plus, Eva has to work her entire body to move the sled backwards so it counts as a total-body workout.

She focuses on basic weight training.

Grant's technique with Eva? 'Traditional old school weight training with some unique angles and movements,' he told Hollywood Life. And here's an example of that. Eva is doing a deadlift variation, that focuses on her hamstring and lat muscles, Grant pointed out in his post. And she's killing it.

'Gettin’ PUMPED, girl!!!' commented fit queen, Hilary Swank. If you're intimidated by deadlifts, don't be. There are plenty of beginner-friendly variations to get you started.

She's up for a workout challenge.

It's one of the ways she makes sweating fun. Here, she does a one-minute plank to a verse on LL Cool J's "I Need Love." So the next time you're feeling less than motivated to work out, take note from Eva. Hit play on one of your favourite songs and get to planking.

She's committed to finding her balance.

Eva can be spotted on her Instagram doing a tripod headstand, and advanced yoga move that requires serious core strength and stability to pull off. ICYMI, yoga can be a great way to increase your flexibility and balance. Now clearly, Eva's a pro, but there are plenty of beginner moves to ease you into it an asana practice.
