Europe’s first titanosaur skeleton revealed at London’s Natural History Museum
Europe’s first titanosaur cast, originally discovered in Argentina’s Patagonia region in 2010, has been revealed at the Natural History Museum in London.
Once a 57-tonne giant that lived roughly 101 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, the skeleton is 37 metres long and five metres tall.
“This is the first time that this animal has been on display in Europe,” Sinead Marron, exhibition lead, said.
“Titanosaurs are the largest animals that we know of to have ever walked the Earth.”
