This is going to be one of those very divisive articles where some people go, “Yeah, duh, I’ve known about this for years.” Or, “WOAH. This is brand-new information.”

Here goes…

Did you know that toasters have a secret tray underneath that collects crumbs? Yup, that sneaky little tray is there – and has always been there – to collect crumbs from your toast/Pop Tarts/potato waffles etc and makes it so much easier to tidy up.

Professional cleaner Kacie blew a tonne of minds when she shared a video to TikTok explaining about the tray.

The video, which has over 10million views, simply shows Kacie pulling out the secret compartment. Then all you have to do is take the tray and all the pesky crumbs and tip them in the bin.

So, yeah, a lot of you probably already knew about this tip, but for those of you who didn’t, we really hope this makes breakfast clean up much easier.

Now you’ve got your crumbs in check, you may want to have a think about making cleaning up egg a little easier.

TikToker @andrew_gatt recently shared a hack while making eggs. After pouring eggs he'd cracking into a bowl into a pan, the TikToker simply turned the bowl in the direction it was poured instead of lifting it straight up. Any food that was going to drip along the side of the bowl fell back into it, leaving no extra mess. The caption on the video reads: “How old were you when you learned this life hack?”

Today-years-old was the answer for most.

Just think how easy tidying up after scrambled egg on toast is going to be from now on.
