Emmerdale viewers were left absolutely horrified and threatening to turn off their TVs after the soap aired some particularly disturbing scenes involving Tom King.

Tom has been deceiving everyone into believing that Belle Dingle is the manipulative one in their relationship, but in a shocking twist, it's actually Tom who's been pulling the strings.

He's been systematically gaslighting Belle, making her believe she's the one at fault, when in reality, he's the mastermind of manipulation since they tied the knot.

In an episode on Monday, 27 May, Belle wrongly blamed herself for their issues, claiming Tom had always treated her with love, Tom grew agitated by her refusal to communicate with him. Desperate to maintain his grip on her, he sought out new ways to exert his control, even when she wasn't physically present.

One upset fan tweeted: "Blimey even a dog isn't safe in that f***ing village # emmerdale," while another exclaimed: "no f***ing way is he gonna kill that dog #Emmerdale.", reports the Mirror.
