Emma Thompson was the life and soul at Adele's show, An Audience with Adele, at the London Palladium, as clips of the star inciting the crowd to get involved while dancing along enthusiastically have emerged on social media.

In one clip, the Oscar winner can be seen mouthing 'Come on!' to other members of the audience as she got out of her chair to dance, before wildly waving her arms in the air and singing along to 'Rolling in the Deep'. Fans were loving Emma's energetic moves as she appeared to be having the night of her life.

Later on, Emma was involved in surprising singer Adele by reuniting her with her former English teacher, Miss McDonald, whom Adele hadn't seen since childhood.

The actress had asked Adele whether there had been an important figure or role model in her life who had inspired her and 'protected her from the trials and tribulations in life', to which Adele had credited her English teacher, Miss McDonald.

Emma then announced that Mrs McDonald was in the crowd, and Adele and Miss McDonald enjoyed an emotional reunion on stage.

An Audience with Adele, which is available to stream on ITV Hub now, was a star studded evening featuring celebrity guests Emma Watson, David Tennant, Idris Elba, Samuel L Jackson, Dua Lipa, Dermot O'Leary and Suranne Jones.

Adele had also invited NHS workers and survivors of Grenfell Tower fire to her concert. The star performed songs from her latest album 30.
