Debuting a dramatic hair transformation – and her shortest cut yet – Emma Stone looked almost unrecognisable at the Golden Globes last night.

Several celebrities were seen sporting bobs on the red carpet last night and are set to be trending again this year but the fresh update chosen by Emma Stone, the pixie cut, was a standout last night.

She styled her new hair alongside an elegant carmine Louis Vuitton gown, embellished with a satin bow. She opted for simple, pared back glamour with her jewellery, choosing an intricate ear cuff on one ear and only a single earring in the other.

The Poor Things star's new crop was created for her by her longtime hairstylist Tracey Cunningham, who told Elle US, "It's like Mia Farrow. She basically has no hair.” Farrow wore the cut during her iconic role in Rosemary’s Baby which did incredibly well during the 1968 awards season, picking up 13 awards and nominations and even a couple of Oscars. Perhaps Emma is hoping to channel more than just Farrow’s style!

There are rumours that the look is for a new role with director Yorgos Lanthimos, in his next film Bugonia which began production in 2024. The duo have collaborated with great success in the past and their most recent film, Kinds of Kindness, was recognised last night with a nomination for Jesse Plemons in the best actor in a musical or comedy.

Tracey Cunningham also revealed that this may not be the only radical hairdo we see from Stone, “It’s super short, and she’s going to have it cut again, so it’ll be even shorter.”

It just goes to show there isn't anything Emma Stone can't pull off - and pixie bobs aren't going anywhere!
