Earlier this year it was announced The Crown's Emma Corrin will be starring alongside Harry Styles in a new drama for Amazon Studios. The duo will play the leads in the adaptation of My Policeman, a novel written by Bethan Roberts in 2012. Here's everything we know about the project:

When did My Policeman wrap?

Emma Corrin revealed My Policeman had finished filming in mid June 2021, sharing a behind the scenes photo on Instagram. "Aaaaand that’s a falafel wrap baaaaby," she wrote alongside a photo of Harry, producer Robbie Rogers and director Michael Grandage.

Robbie shared similar photos with the caption, "That’s a wrap! Thank you everyone @amazonstudios and @jennifersalke and a huge thank you to our entire cast and crew! I love each and every one of you! We had incredible time making this film and I can’t wait for people to see it! #MyPoliceman"

Do we have any My Policeman set pics?

Filming for My Policeman started in Brighton in early May 2021, with fans and photographers alike snapping as many pictures as they could of Harry Styles and Emma Corrin in costume. The pair could be seen on the beach in their 1950s get up, before running into the sea for a paddle.

Fans were also delighted to see photos of Harry Styles in a retro policeman costume, fit with hat 'n' all. We already know we're going to love this film.

What's My Policeman about?

The film, which will be directed by Red's Michael Grandage, is set in 1950s Brighton and follows a schoolteacher named Marion (Corrin) who falls for her brother's best friend, police officer Tom (Styles). But when Tom meets Brighton Museum curator Patrick Hazelwood and they embark on an affair, he's left with a difficult decision to make.

Set in a time when homosexuality was illegal, Tom questions whether it would be safer for him to stay in a relationship with Marion or be with Patrick. However, when it becomes clear to Marion that Tom wants to be with Patrick, it sparks a devastating chain of events. The story also takes place in the '90s when the characters are revisited 40 years on.

Revealing what we can expect from the movie, a film insider told The Sun, "Harry will be having sex on screen and they want it to look as real as possible," before adding that the plan is to shoot two sex scenes between Harry and actor David Dawson, "then another scene where Harry is naked on his own."

"Not much is going to be left to the imagination," the insider continued.

Who has been cast in My Policeman?

The Daily Mail first reported that Emma, who was nominated for best actress in a drama series at the Golden Globes for her performance as Princess Diana in The Crown, will be playing Marion, while Harry will be playing Tom, Marion's husband. This will be Emma's first major film role, while Harry starred in Christopher Nolan's 2016 film Dunkirk and is recently worked on Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller Don't Worry Darling with Florence Pugh. Last September it was reported Lily James had been approached to appear in the film, but it's unclear why she is no longer set to star.

In early March, David Dawson joined the cast and will be playing Patrick Hazelwood, while Rupert Everett will play the older Patrick. He also revealed Homeland and Bancroft star Linus Roache will be playing the older version of Tom. We don't yet have casting news on who will be playing the older Marion.

When will My Policeman be out?

While there's no word on a release date, filming started on the project in May (and wrapped in June) so fingers crossed we're looking at a 2022 release.
