Emma Corrin’s goldfish-in-a-bag dress is their most daring red carpet outfit yet
Unusual outfits are nothing new on the red carpet, from Lady Gaga’s meat gown to Bjork’s swan dress, it's always been a place of experimentation. The latest to rock an animal-inspired red carpet look? The Crown’s Emma Corrin.
Attending the premiere of the long-awaited romantic drama My Policeman – in which Corrin stars alongside Harry Styles and David Dawson – the actor stepped out in a glossy one-shouldered mini dress that resembled a goldfish tied up in a plastic bag.
The dress features a glossy plastic-like material to make it look exactly like a transparent plastic bag, and a small goldfish print was the pièce de résistance.

Corrin plucked the JW Anderson dress – complete with tied shoulder detailing to make it look like a real bag – from the brand’s spring 2023 catwalk show, held in a gambling arcade in London’s Soho last month.
For the final night of the London Film Festival, Corrin teamed the off-kilter look with Cartier drop earrings and chunky black block-heeled mules. Their hair was styled in Corrin’s now-signature cropped cut, allowing a natural-looking wave to come through.

It’s not the first time the My Policeman actor has been seen in a slightly more avant-garde ensemble than their industry counterparts; Corrin certainly isn’t afraid of experimenting and showing off their fashion chops.
Along with stylist Harry Lambert, Corrin delivers cheeky and whimsical outfits time and time again.
Corrin wore one of their boldest looks yet to the Olivier Awards in April, a balloon-printed dress with a balloon-shaped breastplate.
Whereas their interpretation of the Met Gala’s ‘Gilded Glamour’ theme, paying homage to the obscure dandy Evander Berry Wall in an oversized plaid jacket and top hat by Miu Miu, was undoubtedly one of the smartest takes on this year’s theme.
The 26-year-old actor, who rose to fame playing Princess Diana in The Crown, spoke about their decision to ‘come out’ as non-binary in Hollywood for an interview in last Sunday’s issue of The Sunday Times Style magazine, insisting they'd “rather be boldly myself”.

The actor quietly came out as non-binary – when a person does not define their gender as male or female, and generally prefers they/them pronouns, rather than he or she – on Instagram in July 2021, when they updated their preferred pronouns on the social media platform to read she/they.
A year later, Corrin spoke to Vogue about their gender journey, admitting there's “intense pressure” to justify identity and opened up about their non-binary identity, revealing there might always be “some fluidity” with their gender.
