Eminem fans believe there's grim P Diddy reference in popular song
Eminem has been hailed as a lyrical “genius” by fans who have been listening to Fuel this week. They think the rapper's words on Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs are very telling given his arrest last week.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, the well-known rap star, has been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. The 54-year-old was arrested at the five star Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan, New York, on Monday 16 September and is set to face the court later on Tuesday, following allegations he abused multiple women over a span of more than 10 years.
Sean Combs, who is also known as P Diddy and Puff Daddy, is a towering figure in the hip-hop scene. He is up against accusations of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation for prostitution purposes.

Shortly after the arrest, snippets of Eminem's lyrics began circulating online. Instagram user Candice Bruno filmed herself reacting to the song Fuel, which was released back in July. The lyrics say: “I'm like a R-A-P-E-R (yeah), Got so many S-As (S-As), S-As (huh), Wait, he didn't just spell the word, ‘Rapper’ and leave out a P, did he? (Yep).”
Fans speculate that he manipulates the word “essay” to “SA” which is a commonly used acronym on the internet to signify sexual assault. Some also realised that the word "rapper" without a P spells "raper". And what's more, the phrasing "P, did he?" sounds eerily similar to "P. Diddy."
Combs has neither been charged with sexual assault nor rape, but the conspiracy theory has racked up one million views since it was posted on Instagram a day ago. One responder said: “I think he is a lyrical genius.”
Another said: "He has said a lot in his music. People need to listen." And a third added: "I can't stand Eminem as a person. But his lyrical genius is PLATINUM."
When he was arrested, Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo told TMZ: "We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Sean 'Diddy' Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community."
He added: "He is an imperfect person but is not criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court."
