Emily Ratajkowski Would Like Everyone To Stop Telling Her What To Wear, Thank You Very Much

From ELLE UK

Emily Ratajkowski has said once again that telling women what to wear is a form of oppression.

The actress and model, who first found fame in Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines music video, has been criticised for sharing numerous nude or semi-nude pictures on her Instagram page on the basis that they're anti-feminist. Ratajkowski argues the opposite; that expressing a woman's sexuality is liberating.

"I think a lot of people really feel that the idea of a woman being sexual or being sexualised is the opposite of feminism,' she told Harper's Bazaar Arabia.

"When I feel like, in some ways, that conversation itself can be oppressive to women, because you're telling them how to dress and how to act, which is actually the opposite of feminism."

She went onto talk about the Harvey Weinstein scandal, pledging her support for the numerous women who have accused him of sexual assault.

"We need to say, 'I believe you, I believe your experience, your truth and your feelings, about what it means to be a woman,'" she said.

"We need to take the responsibility off women to change how they have to act and behave, and instead look at how we can unite against the cultural issues that have lead us to where we are."
