Emily Blunt to host CFDA Fashion Awards

Emily Blunt has been tapped to host the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards.

The Devil Wears Prada actress will help celebrate the fashion industry's achievements over the past year when she takes on hosting duties at the annual ceremony on 10 November.

"Emily is one of the most talented actresses in the world. Her timeless style and elegance light up any room," said Tom Ford, chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, in a statement, reports WWD. "The wonderful thing about Emily is that she is both kind and intelligent. I have great admiration for her, and I am so happy to have her as the host of this year's CFDA awards."

Blunt follows in the footsteps of previous CFDA Fashion Awards hosts Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Seth Meyers, and her Into the Woods co-star James Corden, among others.

The recipients of some of the night's honours have already been announced. Spider-Man: Far From Home star Zendaya is set to receive the Fashion Icon Award, The Queen's Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy will be presented with the Face of the Year prize, a new award, bosses from The Model Alliance, an advocacy group for models, will be given the Positive Social Influence Award, and designer Dapper Dan will be honoured with the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.

The CFDA Fashion Awards will take place at The Pool and The Grill in New York.
