Emily Atack schools troll over sexist Instagram comment

Emily Atack has fired back at a troll for writing a sexist comment on her latest Instagram post.

The Inbetweeners star shared a mirror selfie via Instagram on Monday to show off her voluminous hairdo and added in the cheeky caption, "Big and bouncy. So is the hair."

In the comments, one man chastised Emily, who has been open about the abuse she receives online, for courting attention with her flirty post.

"And then you wonder why trolls pick you up! Why would you say that if you don't like that sort of attention????!" he wrote.

The 33-year-old responded by insisting that she shouldn't have to change her behaviour to stop men from sending her "perverted comments".

"Even if I put no caption at all, it would still get perverted comments. So it just shows it has nothing to do with me or my choices. It is not my fault some men can't control themselves," she stated. "You are saying I am the one who needs to change, change how I speak, change my sense of humour, maybe change the way I dress, completely change everything that I am… but the people who send the abuse can carry on as they are?"

The I'm a Celebrity contestant shared a screengrab of the exchange on her Instagram Stories and wrote, "I really struggle to understand how some people just don't get it. Then I'm slowly realising how maybe it takes a deeper level of intelligence that some people just don't have?"

Emily has spoken out about the sexually-charged abuse she receives on social media many times in the past, and she made a documentary about her ordeal, titled Emily Atack: Asking For It?, earlier this year.
