Emilia Clarke looked elegant in a red and black polka-dot dress as she arrived on the red carpet for the premiere of Rare Beasts in London last night (May 21).

The Game of Thrones star was supporting Billie Piper's critically-acclaimed directorial debut, a satirical anti-rom-com in which Piper also stars alongside Taboo actor Leo Bill.

Clarke was joined by The Serpent's Jenna Coleman, with the actresses standing as close as they could get to Piper, while also adhering to social distancing, following the premiere at the Everyman Theatre in Broadgate.

The I Hate Suzie star, looking stunning in a strapless silver gown, plays Mandy in the unconventional love story, a career-driven and ambitious single mother who falls for a traditionalist named Pete (played by Bill).

Speaking about the inspiration behind her film, which aims to flip romantic comedy cliches on their head, Piper discussed the challenges of "living and working in a man's world", and the impossibly high standards at which women are held.

"There's this message that you can have it all and do it all and that it’s not enough to just get through your working day – you have to be really successful and brilliant too," she told Metro.

"I guess I’m coming to terms with male oppression. I know a fair share about it, even in its most passive form. I’m examining that now I’m a woman in my mid-30s who is living and working in what has been a man’s world for so long."

Meanwhile, Clarke was on a break from filming upcoming Marvel series Secret Invasion, which follows Fury and Talos as they attempt to stop the Skrulls who have infiltrated the highest spheres of the Marvel Universe.

Clarke stars alongside Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Ben Mendelsohn, and Samuel L Jackson.
