Of all the products in your bathroom cabinet, a moisturiser is probably the most used – and required. One that's been a staple in my skincare routine for the past year is Embryolisse's Lait-Crème Concentré Nourishing Moisturiser.

While it's hydrating and soothing for sensitive skin, I've long loved how well it preps skin for make-up, creating a smooth canvas for my foundation, concealers and other complexion products to blend seamlessly and stay put all day.

It's a cult favourite, too: One tube is sold every 13 seconds, according to a spokesperson for the brand. The A-list fanbase is equally impressive. Famous faces including Karlie Kloss, Elle Macpherson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Michelle Keegan and presenter Emma Willis have all waxed lyrical about it.

Kloss told Elle.com it's a "really good light cream" while Macpherson told Who What Wear it's a "no-nonsense, good quality cream". Willis, 45, stressed she "can't live without" the moisturiser when speaking to the Express Online and Keegan previously told Closer it "works really well and is really good value for money.”

💸 Reasons to buy

The moisturiser not only works to nourish the skin, but removes make-up and cleanses too.

Aside from being a gentle, fast-absorbing cream that doesn't leave my oily, acne-prone skin greasy, I also use it as a hydrating overnight mask and hand cream as well. It's a true multi-tasker.

Not only that, it can be used for men post-shave and is safe for babies. The original formula was created in the 1950s and it contains essential fatty acids and vitamins, such as soy protein, shea butter, aloe vera and beeswax, which combine to moisturise the skin, boost elasticity and smooth the skin's surface. Plus, it is suitable for all skin types.

I have sensitive skin, mild rosacea and hormonal acne, meaning I need all the help I can get to achieve a smooth, happy complexion, and I've always loved how along with creating the perfect hydrated base it also prevents my make-up from looking patchy in drier areas around my nose and cheeks.

✋ Reasons to avoid

While I wouldn't class this as an ultra-luxurious product pricewise, it's still pretty spenny, costing costing £21.99 for 75ml, but that's my only gripe.

One 75ml tube has lasted my nearly a year using a pea-sized amount daily, which across 365 days equates to just 0.06p per application.

However if you're keen to try it without spending that much, you can shop the 30ml version for £13.99.

Elsewhere at Sephora UK, the 75ml size tube has been reduced from £20 to £17.40, while at Lookfantastic the 30ml version is available for £11.89, reduced from £13.99.
