'Embarrassing Bodies' gets a reboot without Dr Christian Jessen

Hit medical show Embarrassing Bodies is set to make a comeback after seven years off-air, with an all-new team of doctors announced.

The Channel 4 programme was popular from 2007 to 2015 and made a star of Dr Christian Jessen, but he will not be returning for the reboot.

Also missing from the line-up will be medics Pixie McKenna and Dawn Harper, who originally starred in the show.

Embarrassing Bodies' new team of doctors taking on the public's health woes will be Dr Jane Leonard, Dr Anand Patel and Dr Tosin Ajayi-Sotubo.

They will be bringing the show back to E4 in the coming weeks, where with the help of yet-to-be-announced celebrity ambassadors they will attempt to de-stigmatise health concerns.

Dr Jane is experienced in dermatology and cosmetic health, so will be the go-to medic for any skin complaints on the show.

Meanwhile, Dr Anand has specialised in sexual health and works in a men's clinic on Harley Street for part of the week, advising on a range of sexual problems.

Completing the team is Dr Tosin, who is an expert in women's health and is also known for her social media account Mind Body Doctor which educates people about medical issues.

The original series of Embarrassing Bodies drew in huge numbers of viewers and won two BAFTAs during its run, launching further media careers for the three doctors who featured in it.

A number of spin-off shows included the team going on tour around the UK to treat patients, staging live episodes where patients appeared over video call, and an episode from Thailand focussing on health while on holiday.

Last year, Dr Christian lost a legal case against the first minister of Northern Ireland Arlene Foster who had sued him for defamation over a tweet in which he accused her of having an affair.
