Actor Elyes Gabel is facing a series of assault and harassment charges after allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
The Scorpion star was arrested last week when a heated argument with his partner turned physical after returning to their room at The Bowery Hotel in New York City.
According to TMZ, Gabel spat in his girlfriend's face and began threatening her with violence, saying, "F**king b**ch. I'm going to punch your f**king face in."
He was also accused of smashing her cell phone and shoving her onto the couch, before allegedly attempting to choke her, leaving her in pain, with red marks around her neck.
The woman didn't report the incident to police until the following day, and refused medical treatment, but Gabel was subsequently taken into custody and booked for misdemeanor assault, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment.
The British actor was released without bail, while a judge has since also issued a temporary restraining order against him to protect his alleged victim.
However, Gabel's attorney, Stacey Richman, is adamant the star's name will be cleared.
"While the claims are sensationalistic, they are not accurate," Richman told TMZ. "Elyes would never conduct himself in the manner alleged.
"Nevertheless, he will not disparage the complainant and looks forward to the facts emerging through the legal process."
