Elon Musk cites whistleblower claims as another reason to back out of Twitter deal
'Bloomberg' reports Musk's newest reason for wanting to terminate his $44 billion deal to take over the company has to do with accusations made by Twitter's ex-head of security, Peiter Zatko. Zatko previously claimed to have questioned Twitter's handling of and lack of protections for user data. He also alleged that the social media company had been running out-of-date software and withholding information about security breaches. In a filing on Aug. 30, Musk's lawyers asserted that Zatko's allegations meant Twitter breached merger agreement conditions.
