Elizabeth Hurley wore a sexy French-maid costume around her 16-year-old son and people are freaking out

For the second time in a month, Elizabeth Hurley is being called out for dressing “inappropriately” around her teenage son.

In early April the 52-year-old actress and swimsuit designer posted an Instagram celebrating her son Damian’s 16th birthday, only to be criticized for posing alongside him while wearing a cocktail dress with a plunging neckline that showed off her cleavage.

It’s no surprise then that some commenters are up in arms about her latest mother-son photo, taken on the set of her E! show, The Royals. Damian Hurley made a guest appearance as Prince Hansel on the program and can be seen flanked by recurring star Joan Collins and his own mother.

In preparation for a saucy scene involving her character, Queen Helena, Hurley happens to be wearing a sexy French-maid costume, complete with thigh-high fishnet stockings and pigtails.

Hurley’s costume kicked off a debate in the comments section, with many slamming it as unsuitable and making insinuations about her parenting.

“It’s not normal for a 50-year-old woman to dress like that with her son,” read one comment. “If you think it is I’d have a word.”

“‘Why is my mom dressed like a whore?'” joked a commenter.

“You’ve got one strange relationship with your son,” another follower remarked.

“I’d be running around looking for eye bleach if my mum was dressed like this,” another critic added.

“Why dress like that in front of your son?” asked a commenter.

Many fans rushed to defend Hurley, noting the series-set context.

“Those who find this ‘creepy’ or ‘inappropriate’ are themselves these things,” a supporter wrote. “It is absolutely unacceptable to make comments that degrade or try to humiliate women based on their dress. It is sexual harassment. I reiterate, under no circumstance is it acceptable to harass and humiliate someone based on how they dress! It is even crazier that anyone would allude that her dress (for work btw) is somehow an indication of her parenting. What are you even talking about?!”

“Why are so many hung up on her outfits?” added a commenter. “If she was my mom, I wouldn’t care. If she raised me right, I would say she’s free to to do as she pleases.”

“Beautiful,” another fan raved. “Anyone following does not question who takes your pictures, or how gorgeous you look in front of anyone, including your son. A son does not lust after his mother. Get off your high horse, and stop with perverse thoughts.”

And what does Damian think? He shared the photo on his own Instagram earlier in the week, which suggests he has zero issues with what his mom is wearing — not that that’s likely to stop trolls in their tracks.
