Electric Blue Is the Next It-Color, According to SS25 Runways

Every fashion week season, we're exposed to new collaborations, collections and most importantly: new trends. The Spring/Summer 2025 season so far has teased a couple of styles and hues that we're certain will become a bigger part of our future wardrobes, one of which is a vibrant shade of electric blue.

First spotted in New York courtesy of Christian Cowan, the striking hue made its way to London at Chet Lo's SS25, appearing on sheer dresses, two-piece sets and even in models' hair. Next, we saw the color transform into a rich, silky texture at Ahluwalia, followed by appearing on sculptural designs by emerging designer Tolu Coker.

As with all fashion trends, it's not the first time the bold shade has featured on the runway, and it likely won't be the last. For now,  read on for more about how our favorite designers are using next season's new it-color and stay tuned for more sightings in Milan and Paris.

Victoria Beckham

During her epic Paris Fashion Week showcase, which took place at an actual French chateau, Victoria Beckham presented a slew of sculptural gowns, delicate dresses and honestly -- works of art. Among the final few looks was a series of sheer and otherwise plain dresses, except for a cluster of electric blue sequins that gathered at the top and bottoms of each look. The contrasting hue added vibrancy and texture to otherwise quite simple looks.

Christian Cowan

Christian Cowan is known for his vibrant colorways, playful designs and tongue-in-cheek approach to fashion. This SS25 season at NYFW, the designer showcased a somewhat somber collection, favoring classic tailoring and evening attire, injected with his signature star motifs and sculptural gowns. Alongside a classic color palette of black and white sat a striking electric blue colorway that appeared across evening gowns, silky pants and tulle skirts.

Chet Lo

Next up, Chinese designer Chet Lo presented an SS-inspired take on his signature fabrications and techniques. This season, the hero color was undoubtedly the striking shade of blue, which appeared in prints with black on sheer, patterned dresses, spiky co-ords and nails, alongside featuring as bright streaks in the models' hair.

Ahluwalia

The color seemingly lends itself to evening attire more so than casual looks, and as a result, appeared on one of Ahluwalia's standout looks this season. Unlike Chet Lo's checked prints, the designer opted for a block color for the gown, instead utilizing the pulled, knotted texture of the fabric to add additional intrigue.

Tolu Coker

Rising designer Tolu Coker presented a deeply personal showcase at LFW, in tribute to her mother. Alongside a dizzying array of vibrant prints, traditional designs and bold colors, the collection also favored that same shade of bright blue, appearing on a corseted gown with a matching hat. Elsewhere, the shade also appeared in a second look, peeking through a white sculptural gown.
