EastEnders wedding! BBC soap's big stars dressed up for wild celebration in incredible behind-the-scenes snaps
Wedding bells are set to ring out in Walford and the EastEnders crew looked out in force when the soap was spotted filming the big day. The scenes, to screen later this year, will see Queen Vic landlady Elaine Peacock prepare to marry fiancé George Knight.
Actress Harriet Thorpe looked stunning in a shimmering gold wedding gown, her vivacious landlady character unlikely to ever have gone for demure. Meanwhile, star Colin Salmon looked the part in a sand-coloured suit. Other included Jamie Borthwick, who is currently juggling his soap role as Jay Brown with his Strictly Come Dancing training schedule as he competes with pro dancer Michelle Tsiakkas on the show.
The rest of George and Elaine’s screen family were also in attendance, including Kellie Bright (Linda Carter), who was notable for wearing a muted green dress rather than her character’s trademark pink – an indication of a change in character perhaps for Linda, following her recent battle with the booze and ‘The Six’ murder drama?

Also present were Molly Rainford and Francesca Henry, who play George's daughters Anna and Gina. Bobby Brazier, whose character Freddie is currently embroiled in a messy love triangle with Anna, was spotted relaxing at the shoot.
The filming, which took place in Bushey near the EastEnders studios in Hertfordshire, also saw Anna and Gina’s on-screen mum, Michelle Collins (Cindy Beale), dressed in black, alongside Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt.
Letitia Dean could be seen also looking stunning in black, while sharing a joke with Phil Steve McFadden on a break from filming – but will things be as jovial for their characters Phil Michell and Sharon Watts by the time the episodes hit our screens later this year?
Others spotted included Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Diane Parish (Denise Fox) and Penny Branning actress Kitty Castledine. Yolande and Patrick Trueman – aka veteran stars Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker – were also there.
Comfort was obviously important on the long filming day with Gillian Taylforth – aka Kathy Beale – looking stunning in purple, but wearing her Ugg boots between scenes. Meanwhile, Tameka Empson (Kim Fox-Hubbard) secretly topped off her pink ensemble with a pair of crocs.
EastEnders weddings are famous for bringing big drama, but what may blight this big day remains to be seen. With George’s ex-wife Cindy embroiled in a secret affair with his son, Junior Knight (Micah Balfour), could there be a family scandal about to erupt on the big day? Or will some other drama raise its ugly head?
