EastEnders unveils first-look trailer for Prince Charles and Camilla cameos

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has shared a first-look trailer featuring some very royal cameos for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee episode.

A clip posted on Instagram gave fans of the soap a glimpse at HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as they make their royal entrance in Walford, welcomed by the incredulous community.

In an episode set to air on June 2, it will be revealed that "Mick's mystery guests" are none other than Princes Charles and Camilla, much to the delight of the other residents.

"ONE WEEK TO GO! We're all getting royally excited here in Walford!" EastEnders' official Instagram page shared tonight (May 26).

Earlier this year, it was announced that Their Royal Highnesses would visit the set, but it was only just recently revealed that they got to film some scenes, too.

Ahead of the celebratory episode, some cast members shared their feelings about the royal encounter.

"It was amazing! It was an absolute surprise to me and everybody else. It was very exciting," Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter, said of her character welcoming the special guests to Albert Square.

Bright's onscreen husband Danny Dyer, who portrays Mick, also shared some insights into the cameos.

"They were really good, they pulled it out of the bag," he said, despite having only 20 minutes to go over the scene and film it.

"We rehearsed it, they got out of the motor, we did it and then they left," Dyer added.

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
