Shirl will be seen taking cover in the office, while a panicked Sharon and Kat try to call on Sam for help – just as gunfire rings out! As chaos ensues, it becomes clear that this was just a warning shot, but the thugs want access to the safe, which is in the room where Shirley is currently hiding.
A confident Sam, meanwhile, is refusing to back down and meet the men’s demands. But events are to spiral out of control – the result being that someone is going to get shot. But who will be left dicing with death?
Rainie announces her exit
After much deliberation, Bernie tells Rainie that she can have Roland – but only on the condition that she leaves Stuart.
But when he gets wind of the proposal, Stuart pre-empts any decision that Rainie plans on making by ending things between them, telling her that she deserves Roland.
The next day, Stuart packs his things and leaves the house, while a heartbroken Rainie decides that she should leave Walford for good. Karen, though, stages an intervention and, after working out that Stuart is suffering from postnatal depression, tries to get him to open up to Rainie. But will he be able to do so before Rainie exits the Square?
Sparks fly between Eve and Suki
Suki confides in Eve about the children’s emotionally abusive dad being released from prison – little realising that Stacey has listened in on the conversation. And after Stacey later grills Eve about Suki’s ex-husband, it’s decided that Stacey can tell Kheerat.
Eve then subsequently meets Suki for lunch and it’s clear that there’s a frisson between them. But what reaction will Eve get when she leans in for a kiss?
Ben’s panic attack
Ben and Jay return home but Kathy starts to suspect that her son is still struggling. And those problems soon become plain when Peter drops off a box of lost property, only for Lexi to pull out the shirt Lewis was wearing on the night of the rape.
A distressed Ben then locks himself in the bathroom, leaving Lexi in a state of agitation. Kathy, meanwhile, chastises Peter for his nonchalance and orders him to take Lexi home.
Kim struggles to move on with Howie
Howie has an eventful week, with the drama beginning with Kim leaping in to save things when his grime performance at Lily’s party doesn’t go to plan.
In the wake of Kim’s intervention, she and Howie kiss. But in the wake of their smooch, she’s confiding in Denise that she’s not sure she can love Howie after what happened between her and Vincent. Things then get more awkward when Kim also talks to Patrick about the situation – and Howie ends up overhearing.
