This Is Easily The Best Way To Hard Boil Loads Of Eggs At A Time

If you have to Google “how to hard boil eggs” or “how long to hard boil eggs” every single time you want egg mayonnaise sandwiches or a tuna niçoise salad for lunch, or even just a hard boiled egg for your breakfast, then we feel your pain.

Considering how easy it should be to make hard boiled eggs, we seem to forget timings every single time, then spend ages peeling scoldingly hot, wet eggs. Plus, if you need more than six, it’s tricky to find a pan big enough, tbh.

Well, get this… here’s a very simple hack for ‘hard boiling’ 12 eggs at a time. In fact, depending on how many muffin tins and oven shelves you have, you could even be looking at 24 or 36 hard boiled eggs at a time. Allow me to explain…

If you need multiple hard boiled eggs – maybe for Easter activities like egg painting or an Easter egg hunt - all you have to do is pop them in the oven.

How to hard boil eggs in the oven

Pre-heat your oven to 160°C (fan). Grab a 12-hole muffin tin and place an egg into each compartment (of course, you can use two muffin tins if you need more than 12 eggs). Pop the eggs into the oven for around 30 minutes. Once cooked, place them into a bowl of ice water to stop them cooking any more. Leave them in there for around 10 minutes, then they’re ready to go!

Plus, cooking eggs like this makes them 100% easier to peel. And I’ll be honest, peeling eggs is probably my least favourite kitchen chore in the whole damn world.
