How easy was it to use?
Dead easy. The website was easy to navigate and select the plan depending on the goal you have. And once you select the plan, that’s it – you don’t need to worry yourself with the menu because it’s so varied.
Over the course of a month you’re never going to have the same meal twice. Sure, there are some meals that you prefer to others, but with some services where you pick your meals, that can actually be a negative. If you pick something and you don’t like it and you’ve got to eat it three times that week, that’s a problem!
I went with three meals a day to keep it simple and then topped it up with a shake around my training if I got hungry. It was simple and made my life and nutrition plan some much easier once it arrived. The menu you get before each delivery got me excited for the week ahead, too.
Did you enjoy the food?
I did. I was most impressed with the variety. A lot of fitness food can be boring and revert to staples like chicken and sweet potato. This didn’t. Each meal had at least five ingredients, so you knew you were getting a variety of macronutrients and micronutrients. With each delivery I didn’t know what was coming, but I knew it was going to be good for me.
Importantly, when you’re eating to lose weight and the calories are lower you need to enjoy the meals so that you stick to it – and it has to keep you feeling full. This plan did both of those. The meals tasted brilliant, but the portions also felt generous and I was full. They were high on flavour and volume.
How did it fit into your training?
So easily. I felt great. I never felt tired or hungry and so always had enough energy to put in a hard session. I also was training and didn’t have sore muscles, which is a good sign that I was getting enough of everything my body needed with each meal.
