This Morning host Eamonn Holmes has offered fans a health update as he continues his recovery.

Eamonn recently went to hospital to find out the source of the chronic pain he was suffering from, and was told that he had three slipped discs causing him nerve damage.

The star posted a video of him doing various exercises with coach James Davies, telling fans how far he had come and how far he had to go.

"I'm still crutch dependent but the idea is to get rid of this," he said.

"This looks very simple and it is very simple, except it's like learning to walk again. I've lost nerves in my right leg and there's certain actions that I can't do. Even the most simple thing. It's hard but it's getting better."

"The whole recuperation path, there's so many aspects to it," he added, showing a series of him retraining his brain to walk unaided, James' massage table and pressure socks, which athletes use to recover from their injuries.

"{My son Declan and his wife Jenny] have just announced that I, together with Valerie and Robin, Jenny's mum and dad, and Gabrielle, Declan's mummy – we're all going to be grandparents! Which means I am a [granddad]."

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
