Eamonn Holmes claims Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby 'lied' over queuegate

Eamonn Holmes has claimed his former This Morning colleagues Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby "lied" about skipping the queue for Queen Elizabeth II's Lying-in-State.

Phillip and Holly came under fire in September 2022 when they were accused of jumping the queue to pay their respects to the late monarch in London when the general public had waited for many hours to do so.

Following the outrage, they insisted on This Morning that they were there for work reasons and did not file past The Queen like the rest of the people in the queue.

During his bombshell interview on GB News' Dan Wootton Tonight on Tuesday, former This Morning presenter Eamonn alleged Holly and Phillip's explanation was a lie.

"Let's get on to the Queen's funeral - they were there to make a film on the Queen's funeral. Have you seen the film?" he asked. "Well apparently they were there to make that, that's the official line given by the editor of the programme. They were there to make a film. Unless there's any documentary evidence of this, I would put it to you, that is another lie!"

Eamonn, who left the show in 2021, then claimed, "Phillip Schofield admits he lies, ITV lie, the place is a den of inequity."

The disgruntled broadcaster gave the sensational two-part interview to GB News to voice his opinion on the scandal surrounding Phillip, who left This Morning after more than 20 years earlier this month.

On Friday, the 61-year-old confessed to having an affair with a younger male employee while still married to his wife. ITV bosses insisted that they investigated allegations about the affair in 2020 but did not find any evidence "beyond hearsay and rumour".

Eamonn previously accused ITV of covering up the scandal, and said on Tuesday that he felt "embarrassed and ashamed" over how he supported Phillip when he came out as gay on This Morning in 2020.
