Dwayne Johnson surprises veteran by giving him his 'personal custom truck'

Dwayne Johnson surprised a Navy veteran by gifting him his "personal custom truck" after a special screening of his new movie Red Notice.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star turned up unannounced to a screening of his new Netflix action blockbuster in Los Angeles on Wednesday and asked for a man named Oscar Rodriguez to stand up. After having a chat in front of the screen, Johnson took Rodriguez out to the parking lot and revealed that his truck was now the veteran's.

"I wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE… something unforgettable for one fan," the action star explained in the caption of his Instagram video. "My original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan, that I drive in the movie, Red Notice. So we reached out to Porsche, but they said no.

"But I still said, yes. I’ll do one better. I’ll give away my personal custom truck as the gift. My baby... I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me."

Johnson picked Rodriguez as he is a Navy veteran who looks after his 75-year-old mother, is a leader at his church and provides support and meals for victims of domestic violence.

"Go enjoy your new truck dude and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!" he concluded the caption.

In the footage, Rodriguez falls onto the floor with shock when he discovers he's been gifted the truck and is very emotional as he thanks Johnson for the surprise.

After Rodriguez drove away in the vehicle, the actor told the camera, "It's just an honour for me to give a little bit of joy to a dude who deserves probably a lot more than just my truck. And now I can figure out how I'm getting home 'cause I don't have my ride."
