Today (29th April) marks the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 10th wedding anniversary; an entire decade since an estimated two billion people around the world watched Kate make her way up the aisle at Westminster Abbey to marry Prince William.

And to make the happy occasion, the couple have released two stunning new portraits taken this week at Kensington Palace.

The photos, taken in the courtyard and garden of Kensington Palace, were shared via the @Kensingtonroyal Instagram account, captioned with emojis and a simple explanation of when they were taken: 'Taken this week ahead of the Duke and Duchess’ 10th wedding anniversary'

The duchess is well known for being a keen photographer and is usually behind the camera of photos released of the couple's children. However, for these special photos, they enlisted the help of renowned celebrity photographer Chris Floyd.

Unsurprisingly, the photos have already received over two million likes and thousands of comments from the public, congratulating the royal couple.

'Beautiful! Happy Anniversary! A fairytale marriage just like your lovely grandparents, Prince William,' wrote one, while another added: 'HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! They’ve been through so much together.... almost 20 years together and 10 years of marriage."

The couple's wedding, back in 2011, saw millions line the wedding procession route through central London and a star-studded guest list that included Elton John, Guy Ritchie and David and Victoria Beckham as part of the 1,900 guests invited to the ceremony.

Since then, the pair have had three children — George, Charlotte and Louis (who celebrated his third birthday last week) — and thrown themselves into causes close to their hearts.

We wish them a happy anniversary, however they might be celebrating!
