The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge marked their ninth wedding anniversary on Wednesday (29 April) by sharing a lovely throwback from their big day in 2011.

In the stunning pic, shared on Will and Kate's official @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account, the royal couple are pictured walking out of Westminster Abbey hand in hand following their wedding ceremony.

The newlyweds beam happily at the camera, as they pose for the snap, followed by Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton, as well as their young flower girls and page boys.

The accompanying caption thanks royal fans for all of the kind messages they have received so far.

"Nine years ago today – thank you for all your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!" it reads.

Unsurprisingly, the post has been inundated with likes and messages of congratulations from followers.

It's not known how the Duke and Duchess will be celebrating their anniversary, although we do of course know that they will be at home with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, during the current lockdown period.

Many congratulations to Will and Kate on reaching this milestone!

Last week, the family made a surprise appearance on BBC One's The Big Night In.
