The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended last night’s England match against Germany (29 June) with their eldest son, Prince George.
The royals watched over the exciting game from their box live at Wembley stadium, clapping and cheering with the crowds.
Young football fan Prince George seemed to be enjoying himself and was excellently behaved as he clapped along with his parents. Fellow fans David Beckham and Ed Sheeran were sat just behind the royal trio.
Kate wore a stunning pillar-box red blazer while Prince William and George were in smart matching suits for the historic occasion. During the match, England scored two goals to win against Germany, which is significant as England hasn’t beaten Germany since 1966.
The Duke and Duchess shared a congratulatory message to the team on their Instagram account which simply read, “Incredible performance England!”, tagging the football team’s social media account.
The pair also shared a selection of images from the event, the first of which showing Kate clapping and smiling along with Prince George, while Prince William (who is President of England’s Football Association) cheers.
Another image was of jubilant Harry Kane, the England captain, running across the pitch after scoring the final and winning goal, alongside another of the team jumping on top of one another in celebration.
The final image was a sweet photograph of a man in the crowd with a young boy on his shoulders, both wearing shirts with "Sterling” across the back, referring to player Raheem Sterling who scored the first of the two goals against Germany.
Many supporters left messages of support on the post, offering congratulations to the England team and saying it was, “great seeing Prince George with William and Catherine tonight. He looked so adorable in his suit,” with others even saying that “Prince George was the lucky charm” behind the win.
