The Duchess of York will star on a new celebrity talent show called Dancing With Horses. The series sees high-profile names working with horses to create dance sequences.

As a seasoned horse rider, the duchess, also known as Sarah Ferguson, will appear as a judge in what its creator, television producer and commissioner Claudia Rosencrantz, describes as an "absolutely, exquisite, complicated, wonderful show". She also said that Ferguson was "wonderful to work with".

"It’s been eight years in my head trying to get those horses dancing," said Rosencrantz, who is known for commissioning The X Factor, Love Island and Britain's Got Talent. "It’s literally the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. It’s like Dancing With The Stars but your partner is a horse."

The pilot was first shot in the UK before the pandemic, but has since been put on ice as a result of the spreading of the virus. However, Rosencrantz is sure that progress will resume now lockdown restrictions are easing. Deadline reports that the series is likely to air on Fox.

Highly-trained horses from the UK and France were used in the show and animal welfare group American Humane were strongly involved to ensure that the animals were well looked after.

“It made me extremely happy. I saw it, and at last thought I can die happy,” said Rosencrantz.
