The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will become parents again this summer, after revealing in their infamous Oprah interview that they're expecting a little girl – and now new details have emerged of their plans around the birth.

According to Vanity Fair, Meghan plans to give birth at the couple's new home in Santa Barbara. The couple were keen to have a home birth with Archie at Frogmore Cottage almost two years ago, but opted for the Portland Hospital in London because Meghan was overdue.

The couple will take time off to bond with their little girl. "It will be the summer and they want to make sure they both take their leave so they have some real quality time together once the baby arrives," reports Vanity Fair.

Harry's paternity leave with Archie in 2019 was cut short because of royal duties. Meghan also returned to work quite quickly, to work on the British Vogue issue she guest-edited and launch her charity clothing line with Smart Works. So, this time around, the couple are keen to take some time out and enjoy the newborn stage fully.

But perhaps the sweetest detail of all is this: Meghan has a ready-made gift waiting for her daughter's arrival.

In an old interview that has recently resurfaced, the then Suits star spoke about the story behind her Cartier French Tank watch (the same style of watch owned by the late Princess Diana).

She said: "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version. I had it engraved on the back, "To M.M. From M.M." and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them."
