Balancing smart and colourful as always, the Duchess of Cambridge sported a magenta skirt suit during an outing on Monday evening.

The 35-year-old royal wore the Oscar de la Renta piece to a conference of health writers yesterday, and though it was indeed a bright colour choice – and above the knee – it was also appropriately chic.

She teamed the look with low-key accessories including diamond drop earrings, black court shoes and a clutch of a similar shade.

The peplum jacket along with the box-pleated skirt wasn’t too different from the Duchess’ previous outfit that day, which comprised a bright-red two piece featuring a pencil skirt.

But the thing we’re all focusing on is that gorgeous magenta shade, which according to The Daily Telegraph, set the Duchess back $3480 (around £2813).

Some have also connected her choice of outfit to Ivanka Trump, as the US President’s daughter is a longstanding fan of the American label and has attended a number of its shows.

Middleton joined her husband at the event held at Chandos house, which featured a number of guest speakers including Paul Farmer, chief executive of mind.

The Anxiety Epidemic conference was held in support of the mental health campaign Heads Together, which aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and spark positive conversation on the topic.

It’s also the London Marathon’s charity of the year for 2017.
